Skiing Candids

A few more random candid pictures from our trip to Mt. Bachelor. A lot of these were taken on the kid's phones which is so fun to see.

 

Tuning & Waxing

Before our ski trip started Brad had asked Dave where we could get our skis tuned (since they haven't been tuned and waxed in a few years). Dave gave him some ideas and then said he had some tuning equipment and could do it at his house. Brad thought it would take a few hours to tune 9 skis (7 of ours and 2 of the Welke's). It took a little bit longer than that. :) 

 

Dave and Mark were both so patient and so helpful in teaching Darby, Colt and Ryker to tune and wax their skis.

Powder Day!

We went up on Tuesday and the weather conditions were pretty miserable.  We didn't take any pictures.   The kids actually did really well despite the situation and it was only Bo and I that needed to go into the lodge to get warmed up.  We still had a fun time skiing as the snow was starting to fall and it was good snow. 

We went back on Wednesday for an EPIC powder day!  The kids had a blast skiing in powder since they had never really done that before.   

Our last day there was Thursday and it was a low of 3 degrees and a high of 9.  Great skiing but very cold!

 

Games & the River

On our first day at Sunriver, Lori, Annika and I drove to Bend to make a Costco run for the week.   When we got back half of the crew were at Dave's house.   So we drove back to Dave's and met them there for pizza lunch.   We were looking for something to do so we walked down to the river that was nearby.   It's fun watching all the kids hanging out with each other.  

They also enjoyed playing Apples to Apples and time in the hot tub.

 

Ski Trip!

Last week we headed to Sunriver for our ski trip to Mt. Bachelor. We left around 10 in the morning and it is a long drive. We stopped for dinner in Bend and met Dave there. Then we got to our house around 9:00. The Welke's arrived about 30 minutes later.

 

Rattlesnake Snow Hike

This was the first year in a while that I haven't organized a snow shoe trip with friends.  For whatever reason I just didn't feel like managing all the logistics, plus it's hard to do things on the weekends with the kid's sports. 

 

My neighbor, Heather, suggested we still try to do a snowshoe hike during the week.   So we decided to hike Rattlesnake Lake.  We didn't need snowshoes but we did need microspikes. 

 

It was a cold day but we ended up seeing some sunshine and it was beautiful!
