Ticket to Ride

The boys received Ticket to Ride for Christmas. We finally learned to play it and then the boys taught Brad. It's a new favorite.

We have had some more crying.  I'm not sure why my kids are so competitive.

Skating & the Park

Here are a few pictures from our time at the skating rink and at a park nearby. (They were from my camera and I think the other ones were from Brad's phone).

Picture fun

Darby and Bo found my camera and started taking pictures. I used to be really protective of the camera but now that we take more pictures on our camera phone the regular camera doesn't seem to be as delicate. Plus, they are older and do a better job taking care of things.

Here are their silly pictures.

Date #2. Woodworking?

When we do our January Date Nights it forces us to be a little more creative with things. I was trying to think of a few things that we like to do, something creative that didn't require a lot of physical stress. This is when I came up with the idea of "helping" Brad with some of his woodworking projects.

I reserved some time at a community woodworking shop.  We were both excited about it and I was ready to be his cheerleader.

Let's just say it turned out a little bit different.

In order for Brad to work on the equipment he had to be certified.  This was only supposed to take 10 or 15 minutes.   The owner started showing us around and before we knew it, 2 hours had passed.

We weren't terribly disappointed because he was quite the character and Brad and I had lots of laughs.   It will definitely be a fun memory for us to talk about in years to come.  And really isn't that the most important part of all of this.

I love this guy!

Lost Tooth

Darby lost her first tooth last week. She was at a friend's house when she lost it.

She is so proud.  She has a few more wiggly ones in there.

Issaquah Cafe

Our neighbor gave us a gift card to the Issaquah Cafe. And being the sweetheart that she is she gave us enough to take our whole family. (She also gave this to us over a year ago and we finally found a morning where we could go.)

The kids did a great job and the highlight was definitely Colt's GIANT cinnamon roll.
