Ranger Station Reunion

We had another great time at the Ranger Station for the family reunion.  It was REALLY hot this time and thankfully we managed to survive.   A squirt gun fight happened and no one was annoyed because the accidental shootings actually felt good. 

Prineville Dairy Queen

We drove down to Prineville for the Annual Smith Family Reunion. We couldn't quite make it before we had to stop for lunch so we ended up at the Prineville Dairy Queen. 

Stopping for lunch is never quick, so its definitely a lesson in patience. 

But at least ice cream helps. 

Uncle Butch

My Uncle Butch is now retired and has been for a little while. He always talks about coming up to visit but its a bit of a challenge to find a time that works. He also just qualified for a special service using the bus service. If he is going somewhere unfamiliar or somewhere that requires a lot of walking he gets a special bus or van to pick him up. This time he showed up in a Taxi. He loves this special service.  And really he deserves it. 

He came to our house and hung out for a bit, had some lunch, played some games, and ate 3 cookies.  :)

On our way out of town we spent some time at the beach.  It was hot so we tried to find shade while searching for crabs.   

Adult Talent Show

On Saturday night we had the adult talent show. 

There were some pretty funny acts and Darren stepped up his game by bringing his saxophone and playing a song.  I think Brad and I will need to start practicing for next year.

Running

On our Saturday at Orcas Island we decided to go to the lake nearby. But a few went running.   Brody & Colt went too and they made it 2.8 miles around the lake.  Brody added more on by joining Heather and Brian.  Thankfully when they all got back I was able to run with Mike.  

Kids Talent Show

We had the Kid's Talent Show on the first night and our kids weren't short on talent....well "talent" might be someone's own interpretation.
