While we were camping we decided to hike up to Franklin Falls. It was a good way for us to warm up and give us something to do as a family.
I have always said that when we camp I always have a way out. So if there is ever a dire situation we can just leave. Well, this time it wasn't dire but it sure wasn't pleasant. Brad and I woke up around 1:00 in the morning. We noticed Colt's bag was soaking wet because he was sitting under a drip in our tent. We got him settled in next to us but I couldn't go back to sleep because I kept feeling a small splash of water on me. That's when we discovered that there was another leak in the tent and it was dripping right on Colt's head. We looked around our tent only to discover that we had about 6 or 7 leaks. After sitting there for a few minutes we decided that we weren't going to get any sleep with a leaky tent and when the morning came we wouldn't be in a better situation. So at 3:30 in the morning Brad and I started packing up. We tried to do everything we could until we had to wake up the kids. Sure enough we were on the road by 4:30 and back home by 5:30. Then we made the kids sleep until at least 8:00.
This was definitely one for the memory books.
