Michigan Boys

Last Thursday I received a text from Chase (the son of one of Brad's college friends). He said he was going to be swinging through town and was hoping he could see us.  

I was thrilled and got all the details from him including when he would be here.  Sunday.   

He arrived with one other friend and then another friend joined us Sunday evening.  They picked up a fourth friend on Monday morning.  

We had the BEST time!  

They spent the night Sunday night, went sightseeing in Seattle during the day on Monday and then spent the night on Monday.  

Enjoying dinner.  Colt had a baseball game and they came to watch him. 

Darby was immediately drawn to Ryan and wanted a picture with him.  

AVP Volleyball Tournament

The Pro Volleyball Tournament came to Lake Sammamish State Park. This time they came in June instead of August.  Luckily they picked a great weekend.  I'm not sure what it would be like if it was a typical first weekend in June....rainy. 

We went to check it out on Thursday evening but there wasn't much going on except for some players practicing.  

Brad was anxious to get back there.  But we had a busy schedule and couldn't make it back until Sunday morning/afternoon. We loaded up the car with our beach stuff and set up camp.  I stayed with the kids at the beach and Brad took Brody and Ollie to watch some volleyball.

The lake was the perfect place to be on a 95 degree day. 

National Donut Day

It was National Donut Day last week. Apparently its the first friday in June. I found out on social media but we were all pretty tired so didn't feel like going. But then I knew I would be kicking myself later for not even trying. So we went. We stood in line for 10 minutes and got our free donuts. We brought them home and ate them on the front porch. 

Water Balloons

Darby's friend Kylie came over to play. We had some water balloons and we finally decided to save some so we could have a water balloon fight. It was so cute watching them even if Bo was the underdog. 

Front Porch Waffles

There are some moments that are just so sweet you wish you could make it stop. We have had some glorious weather and have taken advantage of it even in the early morning.

Colt Baseball

Colt has been playing baseball for the Washington Nationals.  Coach Pitch is SO much better than t-ball.  It has actually been fun to watch.

He hasn't been running through 1st base very well but this time he actually did.

Colt had a great hit.....unfortunately the other team caught it.  Such a bummer! 

Crazy Hat Day

The kids had Crazy Hat Day at school and somehow I remembered. We only had one "crazy hat" and of course the boys fought over it. 

I was able to convince Colt to wear two hats together.  

 

Ollie was really disappointed and I told him we would figure out a really cool hat for him. 

 That is when I came up with this brilliant idea.  This is from a game we have had called Ned's Head.  There are random objects that you have to look for while putting your hand inside his head.  I was almost going to donate this game a week ago.  But now I have found another purpose for it.  How awesome is this crazy hat?  And there isn't a better person to wear it.
