Wine Walk

We were able to get a babysitter the other night and went on a double date with our friends Aaron and Sarah.  She suggested the Issaquah Wine Walk which they have the first friday of the month in April, May & June.

It was a nice evening out but we were a little disappointed that we had to finish our wine inside the buildings and couldn't be outside enjoying the beautiful weather we had.

Sleeping

Brad sent me these pictures from his phone.

They are from a while back but they are still so precious.

Pioneer Farms - Part 2

The great thing about this field trip is we had beautiful weather. The bad thing about this field trip is we had beautiful weather...and it was hot.

The kids did pretty well but it was still a hot one.

The 2nd part of the field trip was about pioneer life.  The kids went inside a replica home and were able to grind wheat berries & coffee, churn butter and knead some dough.  They could also wash clothes (this is what I remembered from my field trip), get their hair curled (the pioneer way) or practice shaving (with a very dull blade).

They also got to see how the iron shop and wood shop worked.  And had some time with the animals.  Brody was bummed he didn't get a chance to milk a cow.  The line was too long.

The kids had a chance to go on a buggy ride.

The last part of the field trip was the school house where they learned how to sit up straight and only speak when spoken to.

It was a long day but such a fun field trip and I'm thankful I was able to go with them.

Pioneer Farms - Part 1

With the help of Papa Bob & Grandma Shari and another friend (who took Ollie for the morning) I was able to go on an all day field trip with Brody's class. We went to Pioneer Farms. I have very vague memories of going here has a kid so I was very excited about going.

The first half of this hands-on field trip was the Native American seasons.  The kids learned about the ways Native Americans used their resources to survive during the spring/summer, fall and winter.  It really was fascinating to see what they did.  The kids were able to try out all sorts of things including games the Native Americans made up with sticks, handmade strings and rings.

Zipline

I met up with some friends at Luther Burbank Park. We haven't been here in a very long time and they have since updated the playground.  Darby & Ollie enjoyed the zipline the most and insisted on me taking some videos.

Brody & Colt were at school and were jealous when they heard we went here.
We will be back very soon.

Spring Soccer

Brody is really enjoying his time playing spring soccer. We just love watching him play.

Watch me throw

I wanted to get a video of Bo kicking the ball but he wanted a video of him throwing it. So this is all I got.  It's still very cute.
