As the birthday party was ending Brody was starting to complain about his tummy hurting and just generally not feeling well. We told him to rest and said he was probably fine. It was just a day of cake and ice cream and that can upset any tummy. He kept complaining and getting more uncomfortable. Once he said he felt like he was going to throw up we got him a bowl. But I still never thought he would. In the middle of watching the Sounders game, he finally did. Thankfully it all went in the bowl. As we were cleaning it up, Darby followed me into the bathroom and she threw up. It wasn't much so I just blew it off as a reaction to nasty smelling throw up.
We put the kids to bed and watched a TV show together. I finally rolled into bed about 10:00. It was less than 30 minutes later that Brad was hollering to me to help him out.
Colt had thrown up in his bed. We knew we were in trouble.
It was a LONG night. Colt woke up every 30 minutes to throw up and just when he was slowing down, Bo woke up and started throwing up. I finally decided to lay on the floor in his room because he was waking up so often. Around 6:00 in the morning Darby woke up and really started to throw up this time. Somehow Ollie escaped, again.
Then we spent the day recovering.
Poor Colt had a really tough time and was getting dizzy. He kept saying it felt like he was going backwards. I was so relieved when we were able to get him comfortable so he could sleep away his sickness.
The three sleeping. Bo is probably upstairs in his crib. Colt is on the floor. Darby & Brody are on the couch.
Trying to recover with a popsicle.
We had the flu back in March. At that time both of my sisters had it go through their families. So in good sister fun they sent "selfies" when they were sick. When we had the March flu I never threw up although I had a few days where I just didn't feel that great.
This time around I ended up getting sick, throwing up on Tuesday night. I tried my best to wish it away but it didn't work. So here was my sick selfie that I sent to my sisters.
The worst part about this flu was our good friends, Karl & Lori were out here again and once again were surrounded by our sickness. They were still very helpful even though they were in the midst of all of it. I am hoping the next time they come to visit we won't be so sick.
Thankfully we are all back to almost 100%.
Here's hoping we don't get lucky enough to get it a 3rd time.
