Sharing Darby's Bed

It's been hot and hard to fall asleep. Brody decided to help Darby and actually climbed into her crib. It didn't work. Darby was still awake and I found Brody asleep in her bed. 

Darby fell asleep in my bed and then I put her back in her crib.   I couldn't lift Brody out of the crib so I made Brad do it when he got home from his hike. 

 

Track or Treat

Colt had a track or treat day for his track practice. The kids ran for 8 minutes and the coaches were lined up around the track.  The kids would stop and put a treat in their bag. 

It was 90 degrees during practice.  The treats were a good motivator. 

They also had a hose spraying water and Brody & Ollie loved running through it.

Brad was hiking so I had all 4 kids by myself on a 90 degree day.   

We had frozen yogurt for dinner.

Sick baby

Darby had her 15 month check up. She developed a low fever later that day and wasn't herself. We just figured it was the shots but her fever lasted more than two days. We finally took her to the doctor and her sweet little body was fighting an Ear infection.

 While I love the snuggles when babies are sick it was especially difficult in our ninety degree weather. I finally laid her on the floor downstairs and stripped her of all her clothes. She looked so sweet in her birthday suit, even if she wasn't feeling very good.

Cannon Ball

Ollie loved being in the pool. He perfected the cannon ball (in very shallow water) and wanted me to take lots of pictures ans videos of him.

Pool Time

It's pool time. During this heat wave we have been loving our pool. It keeps the boys happy and cool. This pool was given to us a few summers ago and it is absolutely perfect for our family.

We were also invited to try out our neighbors new slip n slide.  

Monsters University

Our neighbor Bella had a birthday party. And although it was all girls they still invited the Barquist boys to the movie part and cakesp and ice cream.  This was Ollie's first movie in a theater which is why I tried to take a few pictures.

The boys liked the movie although there were some places they were a little scared.

Olympic Day

Brad was asked to speak at Olympic Day at the Sammamish YMCA. It worked for all of us to join him. The kids had fun being around the older kids and playing games like foozball, ping pong and pickle ball.  They also did the 50 yard dash outside.  It was so hot that it was nice to be in an air conditioned place.
