The Front Porch

My sister, Jenny was in town with her family. In trying to coordinate plans it ended up that Brody & Colt spent a few days with her family & Papa Bob & Grandma Shari. We just had Ollie & Darby. It was nice to have a little extra one-on-one time with Ollie (when Darby was sleeping).

Surprise Rainier BBQ

After Brad's successful climb of Mt. Rainier his good friend, Warren, contacted me about having a surprise barbecue for him. Through countless text messages they (Warren & Brian) were able to pull off a fantastic surprise barbecue. Brad had absolutely no idea.

Drinking the beer.

The cake (Warren was so excited about having a mountain cake)

The best part was having all these kids over on a beautiful summer day.

They even jumped into the pool.

We always love a reason to barbecue, even if it is for climbing a mountain.

Opening Ceremonies

After our shirts were dry and ready to wear we had the opening ceremonies (well it really was after dinner). We met at the mailbox and had a little "parade of athletes". We gathered in front of our neighbors yard and said the Olympic Oath.

We then went over to the park to do some preliminary races.  (We will be more organized next year but fortunately the kids didn't know we were a little clueless.)

Shirt Painting

I planned a Cul-de-sac Olympics for our neighbors. We started off by watching a few Olympic videos and then each of the kids made their own shirt. (They had to choose a country that was not USA)

Brody was Sweden.  (You can see Sweden spelled backwards).  Colt was Jamaica and Ollie was Belgium.

4 months!

My adorable little peanut turned 4 months. She had her checkup but I don't have her stats, because it turns out she has an ear infection. We will get them checked again and I will have all her stats. But I do know she is like my other kids and on the small side.

She is so adorable, even when she is like this.

So in love with this little munchkin!

All Comer's Track Meet

A few weeks ago Brad was asked to speak to a group of high school students.  It coincided with an all comer's track meet.  This basically means anyone can show up and run in a race, including kids.  We signed the boys up for the long jump and a few running races.

Colt did not want to do the long jump but Brody & Ollie enjoyed it.

Colt ran the 100 yard dash with Ollie.  During the second race, the 50 yard dash, Colt accidently started the race with the girls.  We were yelling at him to stop and the race director ran after him and stopped him.  I will never forget the look on his face.  He was so confused and didn't know what was going on.  He burst into tears and immediately clung on to Brad.  It took a long time to console him but he refused to run in any more races. We hope he will be back on the track soon.

Brody, Colt & Ollie did the 100 yard dash.  Brody & Ollie did the 50 yard dash and the long jump.  Brody also did the 200 yard run (which was a much longer race than I expected).

It takes Ollie a little while to get down the track.

I love this video!  Brody is all about giving us a smile for the video.

At camp

After spending the night at Aunt Jessi's I went to pick up Brody & Colt.  Then we all went out to Fort Flagler to visit Brad at his cross country camp.  It was a great, beautiful, relaxing day.  I wish we could have stayed longer.

The boys had fun riding their bikes and scooters.

We also took a walk down to the beach.

And some of us relaxed in the grass.

We just love this place!
